Karen Lange-Morales | Gabriel Garcia-Acosta
This work presents an ergonomic model that has been produced for a group of companies in the Colombian flower industry. It starts out by evaluating production conditions in terms of productivity and health, and goes on to put forward an overall technical and technological intervention model (MITTI, after its initials in Spanish)in which a developmentspiral is proposed. The intervention cycles in this spiral consists of surveying the initial situation, drawing up a diagnosis, designing the intervention model, applying the model, validating proposals, producing elements, assimilating the technology and following up on implementation. The results obtained from executing the model are given, and these translate into training programmes, tool design and evaluation, and equipment. Further achievements resulting from the model include better information management by the companies and the establishment of cooperation chains between companies, the professional risks insurance company, suppliers and advisers. Finally, the importance is stressed of local technological development and the need for inter-institutional cooperation.
