The present study was conducted at Buffalo Research Institute, Pattoki, during Rabi 2007-08 to evaluate best dose of nitrogenous fertilizer on yield and quality of oat fodder. Highly significant effect on crude protein yield 2.86 t per ha was recorded by the use of nitrogenous fertilizer @ 114 Kg per ha, Digestible crude protein yield was significantly higher 2.10 t per ha and 2.08 t per ha by the use of nitrogen @ 114 kg per ha and 136 kg per ha respectively. However crude fiber (%) was significantly higher 26.96% where nil use of nitrogenous fertilizer but phosphorous and Potash was applied @ 84 and 62 kg per ha respectively. Crude protein (%) produced significantly higher in quality 14.30% with N applied @ 114 kg per ha. Mineral matter contents (%) showed highly significant effect on 12.50%, 12.25% by the use of N @ 136 kg per ha and 114 kg per ha respectively.
