The authors of the article present a number of modern concepts of stress in plants according to published sources, as well as offer their own interpretation of the issue. In particular, the researchers present evidence that phytostress arises not only under the influence of adverse and damaging factors. When there is a sharp change in the environmental conditions in a favorable range of abiotic factors, the plant is also under stress, which is reflected in the nature of water exchange of photosynthetic cells. Under conditions of stress the period of maintaining of stable turgor of mesophyll cells reduced (up to complete disappearance), stomatal conductance and the rate of dehydration of mesophyll in the range of up to a maximum turgor to cytolysis of cells increased.
