In the conditions of the Republic of Belarus there were presented the results of research on the effects of nutrient solutions on growing tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum) hybrids in winter greenhouses, on its yield, biochemical composition and fruit quality. It was established that application of the experimental nutrient solution for growing tomatoes on mineral wool the highest yield of fruits in small-volume culture was obtained from F1 hybrids Starbuck and Gayan F1 and was 44,1-44,5 kg/m2. Also it was revealed that cultivation of tomato using the new composition of the nutrient solution allows to obtain products that meet customer requirements. The dry matter content in fruits was 4,4-5,3%; ascorbic acid - 5,7-8,9 mg%; acidity 0,29-0,49 units, and the amount of nitrates during the period of fruiting in 10-16 times lower than the maximum permissible rate. It was noted that the carotene content (1.6-2.0% mg) in tomato fruit during summer was in 1.4-1.6 times higher compared to its content in the spring period.
