In the conditions of the Republic of Belarus there were considered the results of studies presented data on the productivity and quality of perennial grasses and legumes in Poozerie region of the republic. There was shown the role of alfalfa (Medicago sativa) in soil conservation and its advantage over the meadow clover (Trifolium pratense L.). There was marked positive effect of foliar fertilizing with molybdenum on the yield of perennial grasses. There was shown the dependence of the amount of potassium, calcium and magnesium in the plants on the doses of fertilizers. For agriculture of our country, specializing in the livestock direction, the key to improving the efficiency of production is getting full and cheap fodder to the required volume. Therefore, expansion of sown areas of perennial legumes is a priority task, which allows not only getting such feeds, but also improving the soil fertility. In case of permanent cultivation of alfalfa on the background of P60K120 for 6 years the average annual productivity was 109 centner / ha of dry weight with protein content of 17%. Foliar application of molybdenum provided further increase of its efficiency.
