In the conditions of the Republic of Belarus there were presented the results of studies of 2 methods of boar semen collection (by using a portable dummy sow in the own pen of a boar and by using a specialized collection pen). The methods were compared based on their influence on reproduction performance and stress status of boars. Research has been lead on boars of breed Landras, sperm at which was selected in their own cage (1 group) and which for ejaculate reception were overtaken in a specialized collection pen (2 group). Each group consisted of 5 animals of identical age. All animals maintained in identical conditions of feeding and the maintenance, and also at an identical mode of a semen capture. All boars had similar parameters of semen. The advantages of using a portable dummy sow in an own pen were noted, as thus occurrence it is completely minimized the stressful conditions at boars. It was detected that boars are more stressed when moving them to a specialized collection pen for semen collection. This results in changes of blood parameters and deterioration of semen quality and also to decrease in quantity received semen doses on one capture.
