CONTRIBUCIÓN A LA IDENTIFICACIÓN DEL Mallophaga EN GUAJOLOTES NATIVOS DEL ESTADO DE YUCATÁN

Español; castellano. Una de las principales características que se reconocen en el guajolote nativo (Meleagris gallopavo), es su capacidad de resistir condiciones ambientales poco favorables. Los ectoparásitos juegan un papel importante en la dinámica poblacional, diversidad genética y resistencia natural de muchas especies, su distribución es de tipo cosmopolita, es decir, que se encuentran en todas las regiones biogeográficas en las que viven sus hospedadores. El estado sanitario de los guajolotes nativos, es un tema importante de salud pública, debido a que son criados principalmente para el consumo de su carne y huevos. El presente estudio, se realizó en el Instituto Tecnológico de Conkal, con la finalidad de contribuir al conocimiento de ectoparásitos de Meleagris gallopavo en el estado de Yucatán. La colecta de los parásitos se realizó en el 2011 en cuatro municipios del estado de Yucatán, (Motul, Maní, Cepeda, Timucuy) conservando las muestras en alcohol al 70%, Se identificaron para Yucatán tres especies, Chelopistes meleagridis, Lipeurus caponis y Menacanthus stramineus.
