Is it possible to predict the quantity of Olsen-P in soils from that measured by the multiple extractant of Soltanpour and Schwab (AB-DTPA)? [Thesis (M.Sc.)]

The objectives of this study were: a) to correlate the amounts of P extracted by the conventional Olsen reagent and the multi-extractant AB-DTPA and b) to derive an equation by which Olsen-P could be predicted from that measured by AB-DTPA. Through this approach the calibration process of AB-DTPA for P could be avoided, since for the conventional Olsen-P extraction method a reliable calibration has been established. The study was conducted with 50 soils from Chania region in the island of Crete (43 calcareous and 7 non-calcareous).
