Numerous wild plants of the Mediterranean region have been used traditionally for nutritional, medicinal, religious, and many more purposes. In recent years, after a considerable deviation towards industrial products, there is growing interest in the use of wild plants. The MEDUSA network was conceived in view of building up a database, which attempts the classification of Mediterranean plants according to their traditional uses. The present thesis aims at contributing to the MEDUSA Database by collecting and processing data related to the traditional uses of plants in West Bank, Palestinian Territories. The data collection relied on the existing scientific literature review, local expertise and market research. The data processing consisted of reviewing the scientific nomenclature, geographical distribution, life form and flowering period of each species, the addition of local names, organization of the uses/species, selection of the economically most important plant species, detailed description of uses, and economic evaluation (where possible) of the selected plant species. In addition, whenever possible, pictures were taken and plant material collected to be used for local investigation.
