Assessment of accuracy selected methods in determining geodetic points in wooded areas
2013

The thesis presents, based on theoretical analyses and experimental measurements, A suitability of current terrestric methods for determination of geodetic points in forested areas with using methods of polygonometry and GNSS. Traverses are the most convenient method for determination of geodetic points in rough and enclosed territory since adjusting of the traverse shape to the given territory is possible. However, there is aproblem with keeping the geometric parameters given according to the instruction (1994). The accuracy analyses presented in the thesis showed that this could also be reached by not-keeping some parameters. Using methods of GNSS in forestry mapping is effective for densification positional point field in locations with good access satellite signals (meadow enclaves, glades), where is the high accuracy with no problem. For the measurement of property boundaries and spatial distribution of forest detail inside the stands higher accuracy requirements are still necessary classical terrestrial methods – especially traverses with short side length (6–400 m), methods of zone and polar method.
