Effect of lime on vegetative growth during runner and daughter plant production period of strawberry cv. Tochiotome

Effect of lime on vegetative growth, runner and daughter plant production of strawberry (Fragaria x ananassa Duch.) cv. Tochiotome was studied during May to September 2003. It was found that application of lime at 30 kg/rai induced greatest vegetative growth and runner production during June to July. Soil pH increased after lime application at different rates compared to the control and rates of 30 and 60 kg/rai were clear cut to increase soil pH.
