Wheat genotypic variability in nitrogen translocation efficiency in terms of environmental protection

The paper deals with nitrogen translocation efficiency in parental genotypes, their F1 and F2 and backcross F1BCP1 and F1BCP2 generations, all created by diallel crossing. Analyzing parental genotypes, it was found that NS Rana 2 had the highest grain nitrogen content (3.60%), but Jugoslavija had the least value of this trait (3.03 %). In F1 generation, the highest grain nitrogen content (4.07%) was registered in combination Zelengora x NS Rana 2, while the highest value of it in F2 generation (3.71%) was registered in combination Jugoslavija x NS Rana2. At backcrossings with the first parent, combination Zelengora x NS rana 2 with 3.97% nitrogen content was noted in F1BCP1 progeny, while the highest grain nitrogen content (3.78%) was found in combination Ţitnica x Nizija in F1BCP2 progeny. Straw nitrogen content varied within tested parental genotypes from 0.54% (Zelengora cv.) to 0.72% (Ţitnica). Combination Zelengora x Nizija in F1 generation had the lowest value of this trait (0.72%), while combination Jugoslavija x Nizija in F2 generation had the lowest values of straw nitrogen content (0.73). Last mentioned combination had the lowest value of this trait (0.56%) in backcrossing with femaler as well as with male genotype (0.67%). Variability of straw nitrogen content was higher than grain nitrogen content indicating a higher influence of environmental factors on expression of straw nitrogen content.
