Breeding hybrid maize SB099 variety with short growth duration and drought resistance

SB099 was bred between maternal sire line SBL3 SBL62x, the line parents are drawn from single drought tolerant corn hybrids of Maize Research Institute. This is the second line capable of combining high drought tolerance and pest. Test results, VCU testing corn hybrids showed single SB099 has the characteristics you like short growth duration of 110 -115 days in spring, summer - autumn crop from 90 to 95 days of winter and from 100 to 105 days shorter than the controls from 1 to 3 days, stable yield 60-70 quintals / ha, higher than the control from 10 to 15%, which points to the yield on the 95 quintals / ha rate grain / corn on 80% higher than the controls, beautiful colored beads, wide adaptation in many areas, many cases. There is a variety of fresh leaves, reasonable growth, plant uniformity and high corn. Average plant height, easy to care for and against Broken pretty, long muscles, cylindrical, some grain / corn: 14-16 rows, number of grains / row: 38-45 grains, 1000 grain weight from 320 to 330 gram. SB099 hybrid corn was officially recognized for production from June 2013. Produce similar results at the local SB099. SB099 is just showing promising farmers accepted and recommended expanding the production area mass production.
