Orientation of agriculture development base on evaluation of land resource in Thai Binh province

This paper present evaluated results of soil resource in Thai Binh province; assessed the economic efficiency of dominated land use types and kinds in the province to create a proposal for suitably distributing crop systems; aim at an agriculture with high economic efficiency. The results showed that agricultural soil in Thai Binh are mainly alluvial soil, occupied about ┬╛ of total investigated land; the others are sulphate soil, salic soil, gleyic soil and sandy soil. Alluvial soil have a moderate fertility, other problem soils have some limited factors for agricultural practices Land use kinds for rice cultivation only provide low income and performance of capital. Land use kinds of rice and vegetables provide higher income. The land use kinds without rice in sandy soil, sulphate soil and salic soil provide low income, except for banana on sandy soil. On alluvial soil, these kinds provide much higher income, especially with the flowers and ornamental trees Base on these evaluations and other social and economic orientation, a proposal for crop systems distribution was built with 5 main groups, 21 main crops in 34 systems.
