In the Republic of Kazakhstan the program of development of agriculture until 2020 focuses on the development of animal husbandry. To solve this problem in the country it is necessary to strengthen the food base. The article deals with the preservation of perennial grass after the winter period. In the experiment conducted in Kostanai Scientific Research Institute of Agriculture laid mixed swards with legumes and grasses, which are essential to strengthen the livestock fodder base in Kazakhstan. For the study used direct seeding-machine equipped with anchor coulters (СКП-27) and disc seeding-machine (Wintersteiger). On the plant winter hardiness affects water regime of the soil in the autumn, which affects the development of plants in the pre-winter period. According to the research shows that the weather conditions affect the hardiness of perennial grasses more than type of seeding-machine.
