Experiences in automatic plum and sour cherry collection by foreign production shakers motivated us to start the development of a domestic technical solution with which three-year trials were performed. The results of those trials were reported in 2007. By technical improvement of the solution, its functionality and operational capacity have been enhanced. Technical modifications of a vibrating device have allowed continuous frequency modifications during the tree shaker operation, greater maneuvering capability as well as collection area. The operation shows a four-year results of exploitation trials of a tractor aggregate and of advanced domestically manufactured SP-05 tree shaker. Vibrating tree shaker consists of two principal devices: one for tree shaking and another for catching the detached fruits. Its principle of operation is based on mutual action of two masses which allow the appearance of inertial forces of fruits in a tree crown. In the exploitation trial, the tree shaker was aggregated with the IMT-539 tractor with the engagement of two workers. The results which were achieved based on the monitoring of the operation of the mentioned aggregate show that an average quantity of collected plums and sour cherries amounts to 94.9% and 93.6%, respectively. Detachment forces for plums and sour cherries amounted to 3.5 N and 4.2 N, respectively. The quantity of fruits which remained on the tree when using the advanced tree shaker for plums and sour cherries is 2.5% and 3.9%, respectively. The quantity of plums and sour cherries which fell outside the collection area amounted to 2.6 % and 1.9% of the detached fruits, respectively. By the utilization of the advanced technical solution, the manufacture of small stone seeds becomes cheaper in comparison with the usage of tree shaker prototype.
