Virulence of Tver population agent of flax rust | Вирулентность Тверской популяции возбудителя ржавчины льна

The main aim of monitoring of virulence of the Tver population of the flax rust agent at present is timely discovery of new potentially dangerous biotypes of pathogen on cultivated and perspective varieties of fiber flax. Rust (Melampsora lini (Pers.) Lev; M. lini) is one of harmful diseases of fiber flax, the wide spread of which in the sown crop causes substantial loss of the yield and the quality of flax produce. Strong crust infection lowers the seed productivity up to 90%, the mass of fiber is lowered 2–3 times and its quality – by 3–9 numbers. Cultivation of resistant varieties is the most effective direction of the integrated control of flax rust. Virulence of the field artificial population Melampsora lini (Pers) Lev. was detected on the light installation SUL-1 and under field condition on the experimental plot in the Tver region. For the all year round work with agent of flax rust, the study of the phenotypes of the pathogen on the light installation or under field conditions uredospores Melampsora lini were used. The analysis of the general virulence of the Tver population of the agent of flax rust in 2011–2015 showed the presence of more virulent biotypes compared to 2001–2010, where virulent biotypes of rust agent for steady test varieties of flax (Alfa, Tverskoy, Tomskiy 17, Rosinka) were present. The accumulation of average virulent biotypes in the population resulted in the infection of steady test-varieties Torzhokskiy 4, Novotorzhokskiy, etc. The change in the response to crust is periodically recorded in highly resistant varieties Alexim and Lenok. Nevertheless the absence in the population of new strongly virulent biosamples is proved by the stable and steady response of highly resistant test-varieties of fiber flax Tverskoy, Alfa and Rosinka. Constant control of race forming processes in the population of pathogen will allow in good time to work out a correct strategy of selection work aimed at disease resistance and increase its efficiency.

Основной целью мониторинга вирулентности Тверской популяции возбудителя ржавчины льна в настоящее время является своевременное обнаружение новых потенциально опасных биотипов патогена на культивируемых и перспективных сортах льна-долгунца. Ржавчина (Melampsora lini (Pers.) Lev; M. lini) – одна из вредоносных болезней льна-долгунца, при широком распространении которой в посевах наблюдаются существенные потери урожая и качества льнопродукции. Сильное поражение ржавчиной снижает семенную продуктивность до 90%, массу волокна уменьшает в 2–3 раза, а его качество − на 3–9 номеров. Возделывание устойчивых сортов – наиболее эффективное направление интегрированного контроля ржавчины льна. Вирулентность полевой искусственной популяции Melampsora lini (Pers) Lev. определяли на светоустановке СУЛ-1 и в полевых условиях на опытном поле ФГБНУ ВНИИЛ Тверской области. Для круглогодовой работы с возбудителем ржавчины льна, изучения фенотипов патогена на светоустановке или в полевых условиях использовали уредоспоры Melampsora lini. Анализ общей вирулентности Тверской популяции возбудителя ржавчины льна в 2011–2015 гг. показал наличие более вирулентных биотипов по сравнению с 2001–2010 гг., где присутствовали в основном авирулентные биотипы возбудителя ржавчины для устойчивых тест-сортов льна (Альфа, Тверской, Томский 17, Росинка). Накопление средневирулентных биотипов в популяции привело к поражению устойчивых тест-сортов Торжокский 4, Новоторжский и др. Периодически фиксируется изменение реакции к ржавчине у высокоустойчивых сортов Алексим и Ленок. Однако об отсутствии в популяции новых сильновирулентных биообразцов свидетельствует стабильная устойчивая реакция высокоустойчивых тест-сортов льна-долгунца Тверской, Альфа и Росинка. Постоянный контроль за расообразовательными процессами в популяциях патогена позволит своевременно выработать правильную стратегию селекционной работы на устойчивость к болезни, повысить ее эффективность.
