The International Society of Citrus Nurserymen (ISCN), is a non-profit organization endowed with appropriate international status, driven by a number of dedicated nurserymen and scientists. The common objective is achieving excellence in citrus action. To date ISCN has organized five international congresses, respectively in Spain, USA, Australia, South Africa and, more recently, in France. The next congress is due to be held in Brazil, in 2001. The proceedings of these international meetings contain considerable amount of technical and scientific information and provide first-hand knowledge to citrus nurserymen willing to improve their operation for the ultimate benefit of growers. The 5th ISCN Congress emphasized on the following aspects : modern technology for the human propogation of elite planting material, new methods of diagnostic and control of graft-tronsmissible diseases, comprehensive approach in nursery management and fertilization, certification of citrus germplasm, integrated control of pests ond diseases in citrus nurseries and young orchards.
