The paper presents the research on the impact of the soil wetting regime on the state of protected pedunculate oak forests in Gornji Srem. The impact of the most important environmental factor on the site of pedunculate oak is associated with the decline of hygrophilous forests in this area. A special methodology was used to study the moisture content in the soil, determine the areas with the risk of deficiency or excess of moisture in the case of MU `Raškovica-Smogvica`. Graphical representations (hydropedological maps) of these zones define the state of certain areas in terms of the available amount of moisture in the soil which can be used in the practice of the forest management planning.
