To make the quality controls during the drying and in the end of the drying process, to determine optimum the drying methods according to feature of tree species and the thickness of lumbers, to enable the decrease of drying costs, to define the most appropriate the drying programs for the optimal drying, to evaluate the drying methods provide a lot of advantages such as the increase of the competition chance and contribution the national economy and to find a possibility to sell the lumber from the highest price. In the existence of these reasons, it becomes inevitable for national economy and private sector to use the quality control standards for not only scientific studies but also for all drying process made by private sector. In thıs study, the drying quality has been evaluated by taking into the consideration of the standard has been prepared by Europan Drying Group in the 1992 and the achievements have been tried to ascertain in the lumber factory located in Düzce which has very important share between the cities that have forest products industry, by being realized the practice of two different drying program for Oriental Beech lumber that has 40-50 mm thickness. Thus, this study has been put into the practice. In the end of this study, it has been concluded that by making the drying function without any quality control standard leads the loosing of competitive advantage for export, drying defects, high moisture gradient. The owner of the firm also, has reached this conclusion with the knowledge of his forest engineer.
