Three local varieties (Alfonso, Batac and Collection 3) and seven exotic collections (kanva2, king, kosen, S13, S54 and S61) were subjected to bioassay using silkworm hybrid DMMMSU 115x DMMMSU 101 to determine the performance of bivoltine silkworm hybrid DMMMSU 101 x DMMMSU 115 in terms of ten mature larvae (WTML), single cocoon weight (SCW) and single shell weight (SSW), cocoon shell percentage (CSP), cocoon yield/box (CYB), filament length (FL) and filament size (FS). The experimental design used was RCBD with three replications. The Analysis of Variance was used to analyze the data. Evaluation Index was also done to identify varieties that can improve silkworm rearing performance. Results showed that the performance of silkworms fed with the different mulberry varieties differed significantly. Silkworms fed with leaves of S13 produced the heaviest WTML and thickest FS while those fed with leaves of Alfonso variety had the highest SCW, SSW, CSP and CYB. Alfonso, kava 2, S13, King and S54 could be used for cocoon production to increase diversity for ecological sustainability at farmer's fields.
