Mycotoxins are secondary products of the metabolism of certain types of fungi that exhibit negative effects (carcinogenic, mutagenic, teratogenic, cytostatic, immunosuppressive, estrogen, emetic, photosensitising) to certain animal organs. The intensity of the toxic effects of mycotoxins from foods on the human and animal organisms depends primarily on the species of animals, the defenses of the organism, the metabolic specificity of the organism, and the mechanism of action of mycotoxins. The mineral mycotoxin adsorbents: aluminosilicates, clays and zeolite minerals are most commonly used for the detoxification of feedingstuffs nowadays. This paper presents the results of numerous researchers who examined various mineral adsorbents of mycotoxins in the nutrition of different species of domestic animals.
