The aim of this paper was to investigate the larvicidal effect of three concentrations (1, 2 and 5%) of methanol extract of Gentiana cruciata against the Indianmeal moth Plodia interpunctella (Hübner, 1813). The results were expressed as the number of dead larvae after 2, 4 and 7 days. The highest larvicidal efficiency was found in the replicates with 1% extract (38.15 ± 6.74), while 5% extract showed no larvicidal effect. Previously mentioned efficiency of 1% extract against P. interpunctella larvae opens the possibility of further investigation of potential insecticidal effect of methanol extract of G. cruciata and its possible application as botanical larvicid.
