The Relationships between Udder Morphology and Milk Parameters of Cows in Different Breed and WeightsThis research was conducted in order to examinethe correlation of udder morphology and milk parameters between Simmental and Brown Swiss cattle breeds with different weight (thin, normal and overweight). As research material, the data related to 30 Simmental and 30 Brown Swiss Cows was provided from the farm of Günay Livestock Industry In corparated Company affiliated with Erzincan Breeding Cattle Association. Milk samples and udder meauserements were provided from GünayLivestock Industry in March 2017 with one week intervals. The samples of milk were taken to the Laboratory of Erzincan Breeding Cattle Association and pH, fat, protein, lactose, TKM, YKM, ure and SHS values were analysed. Five different udder sizes were measured. From animal for Statistical Data Analyses, Independent two Samples T-Test, Analysis of Variance and Correlation Test were used. SPSS packaged software was used for the analyses.Comparing effects related to cattle weights (thin, normal, overweight) on milk parameters, in thin Brown Swiss cattle milk protein content was detected lower than the normal and overweight groups. In Simmental cattle TKM content of thin group was detected higher than that of normal and overweight groups. In thin Simmental group YKM ratio was determined as higher than the overweight group. Breeds in terms of weight were compared. In thin Simmental cattle fat contents of their milk were found out higher than that of thin Brown Swiss cattle. Simmental cattle having normal weight were detected to have higher fat content yet lower protein and YKM content Simmental cattle having normal weight. Overweight Simmental group was detected to have lower YKM ratio than over weight Brown Swiss group.In the research, it was revealed that there were statistically significant correlations between milk biochemical parameters and udder height (MY), teat length(MBU), teat width (MBG), teat circumference (MBÇ) and udder circumference (MÇ). When Brown Swiss and Simmental cattle breeds were categorized in terms of their weights (thin, normal and overweight), significant correlations were determined. It was identified that while there was a negative and significant correlation between MY and protein (r= -0.763, p=0.004) and MBÇ and TKM (r= -0.796, p=0.002) in Thin Brown Swiss Cattles, a positive correlationbetween MY and lactose (r=0.608, p=0.036) was identified. A negative high correlation between MY and protein (r= -0.830, p=0.001) was identified in Overweight Brown Swiss Cattles (p<0.01). In Thin Simmental cattle between MBG and fat, there was a negative and moderate correlation (r= 0.625, p= 0.001), in normal weight Simmental cattle between MBÇ and SHS (r= -0.530, p= 0.016) a negative and moderate correlation was identified (p<0.05).Despite the fact that Simmentaland Brown Swiss cattle breeds are raised commonly for milk production in our country, there are not any studies in literature focusing on the relationship between milk parametersand udder morphology in correlation to weight distributions. The main goal of this thesis is toobtain data needed in the field for the mentioned breeds and to fulfil the incompleteness in literature.
