Environmental attitudes are known to influence the environmental behavior of an individual. Earlier research has shown that the environmental attitudes of farmers in the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina are still mid-ecological. However, factors explaining differences in environmental attitudes have not been explored. This paper tests the impact of commonly examined demographic variables (gender, age, and education level) on the farmers’ environmental attitudes, measured by the revised New Ecological Paradigm (NEP) scale. The test results show that selected demographic variables do not significantly affect the values obtained on the NEP scale. Therefore, future research should test other independent variables to determine what factors influence environmental attitudes. Based on this, it is possible to define measures aimed at changing environmental attitudes towards full acceptance of the new environmental paradigm by farmers.
