The article illustrates the results of studying the transpiration rate of the Bromus inermis varieties at different periods of development in alas ecosystems of the Leno-Amginsky interfluve of the Сentral Yakutia. The main limiting factor of the research area is the drought during the vegetation period. The study demonstrates that the varieties of Bromus inermis have a unimodal curve in the phase of stem extension, and a bimodal curve during the tasseling and flowering stages. The maximum evaporation of moisture from the leaves occurs during the stem extension stage (from 1149 mg / g / h to 1231 mg/g/h), significantly less in the tasseling stage (from 486 to 640 mg/g/h) while during flowering there a slight increase is observed (from 681 mg/g/h to 951 mg/g / h). Among the studied varieties, the research identified 2 varieties with economical consumption of moisture and 3 varieties with intensive transpiration.
