The causative agent of uncinariasis, Uncinaria stenocephala, belongs to one of the most common parasites in the urban dog population and is very widespread. Canine uncinariasis is a helminthic disease related to nematodes. The transmission of the pathogen can be both foodborne and percutaneous. It is known that during the migration of Uncinaria larvae through the skin, they injure a large number of vessels, tissues and organs of infected animals. In helminthiases, including uncinariasis, all systems of the animal body are involved in the pathological process, including the changes in their haematological status. The study of haematological parameters is important for the diagnosis of helminthiasis, monitoring the course of the pathological process in the body and establishing the prognosis of the disease. This is the reason for the decision to examine the dynamics of morphological parameters of the blood of dogs infected with Uncinariae before and after deworming.
