Dereli, K.
This research was conducted to determine the effects of different nitrogen doses on turf performance of some perennial ryegrass cultivars on Agricultural Research and Applied Center of Suleyman Demirel University in Turkey, during 2014-15 years. This research was conducted in randomized block design with three replication. Perennial ryegrass (Lolium perenne L.) cultivars Cutter, Troya and Stravinsky were used in this research. Four nitrogen levels (0, 2, 4 and 6 g m-2 mount-1) were applied in this research. The speed of emergence (day), ground cover speed (day), ground cover rate (1-9 point), cold tolerance (1-9 point), leaf color (1-9 point), regeneration power (1-5 point), tiller number, general appearance (1-9 point), dry matter yield (g m2) and nitrogen content (%) were determined in this research. According to results, Cutter and Stravinsky cultivars showed the best performance in terms of speed of emergence, leaf color, regeneration power and infrequency degree. The best performance in terms of ground cover speed, tiller number, dry matter yield and nitrogen content were obtained from Stravinsky cultivar, while the best performance in terms of general appearance were obtained from Cutter cultivar. The effects of nitrogen fertilizer applications on turf performance were significant. Increasing N fertilization rates resulted in an increase in cold tolerance, ground cover rate, leaf color, regeneration power, tiller number, general appearance, dry matter yield and nitrogen content.
