The effects of nitrogen fertilization on forage and seed yields of phacelia (Phacelia tanacetifolia Bentham) under Eskisehir ecological conditions
2014
Yilmaz, H.
This research was conducted to determine the effects of four different nitrogen doses (0, 3, 6, 9 and 12 kg/da), two phacelia cultivars (Enton and Stala) on yield and qualit components of phacelia (Phacelia tanacetifolia Bentham) under Eskisehir conditions in the 2014 growing season. In the study, while increasing nitrogen fertilizer doses reduced flowering started, decreased flowering period. The highest green forage and hay yields were obtained from 6 kg/da nitrogen dose (2980 kg and 715 kg, respectively) at Enton cultivar, from 9 kg/da nitrogen dose (2110 kg and 534 kg, respectively) at Stala cultivar. It were determined that the highest crude protein ratio at the up to 6 kg/da nitrogen fertlizations, the highest crude protein yield 94.39 kg/da at he 9 kg/da nitrogen fertilization. While increasing nitrogen doses, decreased ADF and NDF contents, incresed TDN, DMI and DDM content of phacelia cultivars. The highest RFV value were determined at the all nitrogen fertization doses except control plot. In coclusion, it were regarded that green forage yield, hay yield, crude protein ratio, crude protein yield and relative feed value, Enton cultivar can be preferred Stala cultivar. It is possible to obtain higg forage yield and good quality with 9 kg/da nitrogen application in similar ecologies.
