In this study efficacy of UV protectant added Emamactin benzoate preparation on codling moth was discussed. The purpose of the study was to show higher persistence and increased efficacy of this insecticide on the apple trees. In this study, UV protectant added Emamactin benzoate preparation was examined and compared to the same active ingredients without UV protectant. For this purpose, two apple orchards were selected; one from Eğirdir/Isparta and one from Çivril/Denizli and studies were conducted in 2012.UV protectant added 50 g/kg concentrated Emamactin benzoate preparation showed 56.71 %, 79.69 %, 84.12 % and 95.07 % effects at 12.5 g/100 lt, 15g/100 lt, 17.5 g/100 lt and 20 g/100 lt dilution in water, respectively in Eğirdir/Isparta. Same active substance without UV protectant showed 65.97 % effect at 20 g/100 lt dilution in water. In insecticide free research plots (control), 15.17 % wormy fruits were determined. As a result of studies in Çivril/Denizli, UV protectant added 50 g/kg concentrated Emamactin benzoate preparation showed 69.45 % effect at 12.5 g/100 lt dilution in water, 92.78 % effect at 15g/100 lt dilution in water, 95.34 % effect at 17.5 g/100 lt dilution in water and 96.44 % effect at 20 g/100 lt dilution in water. Same active substance without UV protectant showed 40.50 % effect at 20 g/100 lt dilution in water. In insecticide free research plots (control), 37.81 % wormy fruits were determined. The results of this study showed that UV protectant added Emamectin benzoate was more effective at lower dosage than Emamectin benzoate without UV protectant.
