Bayram, S.
In this study, in order to determine some rootstock properties of avocado varieties, seedlings of 'Topa Topa', 'Mexicola' varieties which were used as rootstock of avocado seedling production in our country, and 'Bacon', 'Fuerte', 'Hass' and 'Bacon' varieties which were used as commercial varieties, seedlings studied. For this purpose, fruits were harvested from avocado varieties in two different times and obtained seeds were inoculated in two different time. After a certain time at the developed seedlings; it was tried to determine germination capability and to present rootstock development with morphological and hormonal analysis. On the developed seedlings, as a result of the vaccination of well developed ones, anatomic and histological analyses were carried out on the rootstock-scion match.According to germination capabilities and morphological developments; 'Mexicola' and 'Topa Topa' which was used as rootstock, and 'Bacon' and 'Zutano' which was used as commercial varieties was given good results. In the hormonal studies; although it was changed generally depending on the cultivars, there were similar trends between ABA and GA3 that may be related to each other. During the development of seedlings, both ABA and GA3 contents reduced in January and June, that may be the content of other hormonal studies in future. The results of these studies could be identify the relationship between exogenous GA3 applications and seedlings development. At the anatomical and histological studies, it was found that contraction of the vaccines was successfully done and it was not observed about the confliction of vaccines.
