Humic substances have a wide range of effects, so there is a wide range of uses, including plant growth stimulation (Purmalis, 2015). With the development of technology, environmentally friendly have been developed humic substances production methods, thus creating opportunities to prepare preparations for soil improvement. One such preparation is sapropel concentrate Formula EKO containing biologically active substances and natural soil micro-organisms such as Bacillus spp., Azotobacter spp., Pseudomonas spp. Peas are one of the most important legumes in Latvia in the context of both food and fodder. Due to the fact that peas do not stand out with good tolerance against the stress caused by climatic factors, it was hypothesized that the product Formula EKO soil microorganisms will enhance crop yields by activating the soil microflora regardless of environmental conditions. The research was carried out in the fields of biological crop rotation of AREI Priekuli Research Centre in 2019 and 2020. The test preparation Formula EKO is sprayed on the soil shortly before sowing. The results of the study show that use of the sapropel humic concentrate Formula EKO has a positive effect on the yield of 'Bruno' peas. In 2019, the seed yield in the all variants treated with the preparation was 0.2–0.3 t haE−1 higher. In 2020, a harvest was observed an increase of 4.5 to 29.9% compared to control that seen only in the co-administered variants. The use of Formula EKO has affected the quality of the crop, particular in the weight of 1000 seeds treated on average in both years variants were 5–6 g higher. The product Formula EKO provides a more rational use of nutrients (phosphorus and potassium) for plants.
