At least 50% of photosynthetic products for grain are provided by flag leaf, the most important organ for photosynthesis. Some traits, such as size and shape of flag leaf, affect photosynthesis to a certain extent, thereby influencing production. Leaves make up most of the total surface area of the plant, which is the main surface for physiologically active exchange with the atmosphere. The aim of the study was to compare the main indicators of the winter wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) ‘Skagen’ flag leaf in the conditions of uneven field terrain. The basic indicators of flag leaf length, width (cm) and flag leaf area (square cm) of a winter wheat were detected using a scanner STD4800 and the specialized computer program WinFOLIA Regent Instruments Software. Experiments were performed out in the south part of Latvia, Zemgale region (GPS-coordinates: 56°27'59.7"N 23°46'05.2"E). Palmtop computer HTC was used in determining point coordinates, allowing to determine points in field conditions, and to determine field outline – borders (in flat terrain and valley). The analysis of the obtained results showed that the basic parameters of the winter wheat flag leaf were influenced by the terrain of the field.
