The ecosystem of the Arctic territories is very sensitive to external influences, it easily degrades and restores extremely slowly. The consequences of environment problems in the Far North are palpable in different parts of the globe. Almost half of the territory of the Krasnoyarsk Region, one of the largest regions of the Russian Federation, is located in the Arctic zone. The problem of accumulated environment damage, waste disposal and utilization in the Arctic zone of the region remains one of the most acute. The lack of infrastructure for waste processing and potential consumers of secondary resources hampers the solution of this problem. Nevertheless, the elimination of the accumulated environment damage and its consequences, reclamation and restoration of disturbed ecosystems is an actual task of the present, the solution of which is to ensure sustainable social and economic development of the region.
