This study was conducted to assess the leaching of Cu, Cr and As from CCA-treated wood and also to investigate the effect of soil pH on the chemical distribution into the soil environment. Soil samples were taken at three different zones from the fourteen year old CCA-treated wood grave yard plot. Soil samples were collected at 0 to 90 cm depth and at 0 to 30 cm distance from the CCA-treated wood. The CCA content in the soil was determined by Aqua Regia method and its concentration was measured on Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer. The pH values of the soil samples are in the range of 4.34 to 5.98. The result showed that there was a considerable amount of Cu, Cr and As leached from the CCA-treated wood. The distribution of Cu, Cr and As in soil decreased with increasing soil depth and distance from the CCA-treated wood.
