2018

In Indonesia, 7.8 million (35.6%) of the 23 million children under five years of age suffer from stunting, with 18.5% in the very short category and 17.1% in the short category. The stunting tolerance limit of WHO is set at 20% or one fifth of the total number of toddlers. This also resulted in WHO establishing Indonesia as a country with poor nutritional status. In the National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN), the Indonesian government is targeting a decrease in stunting prevalence from an initial status of 32.9% to 28% in 2019. For the reduction of stunting rates, the government has also set 100 priority districts to be handled in the initial stages.
