Concentrations of seven heavy metals (Fe, Mn, Zn, Cu, Ni, Pb, and Hg) were determined in sediment collected in October 2019 from three locations at the Boka Bokotorska Bay. The average concentrations of the heavy metals found in sediment samples were: 28578 mg/kg for Fe, 616 mg/kg for Mn, 111 mg/kg for Zn, 58 mg/kg for Cu, 111.5 mg/kg for Ni, 32 mg/kg for Pb and 0.388 mg/kg for Hg. The aim of the study was to determine the levels and distribution of heavy metals, and also to assess the extent of anthropogenic impact using concentration factor (CF) and pollution load index (PLI).
