Sheep and goat pox is an acute infectious disease that occurs endemically in Central and North Africa, Asia, the Middle East and some parts of the Mediterranean. The first data on the occurrence of smallpox of sheep and goats date from the late 13th and early 14th century. The disease was eradicated in our country in 1955. So far, the disease has not been diagnosed on the American and Australian continents. All breeds of sheep and goats are suscceptable, the morbidity is about 75%, and the mortality is about 50%.
