2003
Bautista, E. C., | Basada, R. M.
The field survival and growth performance of rooted cuttings of Shorea contorta, Anisoptera thurifera, Parashorea plicata and Shorea guiso were evaluated. Three years after field planting, highly significant differences in height and diameter growth increments were obtained with the species tested. Shorea contorta had the highest height and diameter growth increments (respectively 341.1 and 2.5 cm) followed by A. thurifera (270.2 and 19 cm), P. plicata (258.8 and 1.7 cm) and S. guiso (250.9 and 1.6 cm). In terms of survival, there were no significant differences among the species studied. Survival was 92% for S contorta, 84% for A. thurifera, 90% for P. plicata and 85% for S. guiso.
