The production of standard blood agar for the indiscriminate cultivation and isolation of bacteria is mostcommonly used in rams' blood. Sometimes pathogenic bacteria can be present in rams' blood, which isless the case, while saprophytic bacteria and their spores are always present on the skin and / or hair ofanimals, as well as in the environment, so theoretically there are several critical points for bacteriologicalcontamination of the blood and subsequent bacteriological leakage. contaminated blood agar. The firstcritical point is the presence of transient bacteremia or septic conditions in rams, as a result of frequentvenipuncture or primary infectious disease. Such conditions would have to be mirrored by a change ingeneral condition with hyperpyrexia and disruption of haematological and biochemical parameters in theblood. Another critical point is venipuncture, that is, inadequate skin preparation. The third critical pointfor bacteriological contamination is the technological process with the blood collected until it is pouredinto a prepared and sterile blood agar base. The use of a sensitive method for controlling sterility bloodcollection (chemoculture) can prevent bacteriological contamination of spilled blood vessels. From thebacteriological point of view, the most critical is venipuncture, because of the ever-present physiologicalflora of skin and hair.
