The Parameter Estimations of Some Yield Properties of Holstein Cattle. I: Reproduction Traits

In this study, phenotypic and genetic parameters of some traits related to milk and reproductive yield were calculated in Holstein cattle reared in a private enterprise in Yenişehir District of Bursa Province. First Breeding Age (FBA), First Calving Age (FCA), Service Period (SP), Number of Insemination Per Conception (NIPC), Calving Interval (CI) and Gestation Period (GP) averages were determined as; 560.95 ± 75.94 day, 824.52 ± 120.40 day, 123.22 ± 57.87 day, 1.81 ± 1.15, 387.48 ± 45.39 day and 277.16 ± 6.51 day, respectively. The heritability of these traits was found as 0.405 ± 0.232, 0.325 ± 0.222, 0.208 ± 0.420, 0.303 ± 0.423, 0.035 ± 0.247, 0.017 ± 0.104, 0.218 ± 0.214 and 0.050 ± 0.111, respectively.
