Advanced test of promising yellow and white flint double cross hybrids of corn [study conducted in the Philippines]

This study was conducted to determine the yield, agronomic characteristics resistance to pest and diseases an adaptability of the promising double cross hybrids. A randomized complete block design was used in the study. Results of the study revealed high significant differences in terms of ear height, plant height, number of ears harvested and grain yield. The number of days to silking was not significant. XP 213 responded favorably under Kabacan condition based on its good performance in terms of yield (112.4 cavan per hectare), good agronomic standing and response to pest and diseases
