Cobalt supplement either through cobalt bullet or mineral lick (0.005% Co) had a highly significant effect (P /0.001) on liveweight gain of female Brahman X Kedah-Kelantan cattle grazed on Rengam series soil. Cobalt bullet had merit when used for grazing cattle on cobalt defecient soil. Mineral lick was also suitable but too expensive. Copper supplement has no significant effect on liveweight gain and blood parameters. Low red blood cell count 4.5 x 10(*6) mm(*-3) and macrocytic normochronic type of anaemia (MCV = 60.34 phi(*3) and MCHC = 29.9%) was recorded in the control animals whereas Co supplemented animals showed normal blood picture. Typical Co deficiency symptoms was found in the control animals
