Effect of some growth retardants on Zephyranthes grandiflora
1981
Wiraphan Saengsiriphaisan
Zephyranthes grandiflora bulbs were treated by 3 growth retardants, Alar (daminozide) at 25000, 5000 or 7500 ppm, A-rest (ancymidol) at 25, 50 or 75 ppm and CCC (chlormequat) at 2500, 5000 or 7500 ppm. All growth retardants where applied as a soil drench or a quick dip for 30 seconds. All chemicals had no significant effect on the length of flower stalk, flower size and flower number, but CCC treatments at 5000 ppm as a soil drench, at 2500 and 7500 ppm as a quick dip tended to shorten the length of flower stalk when compared to the control treatment
