INRA (Agronomic Research Centre for the French Antilles and Guiana (INRA-A G)) located in Guadeloupe, with substations in Martinique and French Guiana, is organized into scientific departments of one or more research stations, the programmes of which are listed. Stations listed work in the following areas: agronomy and soil science, bioclimatology, genetics and plant breeding, plant pathology and weed science, zoology and biological control, plant physiology and biochemistry, forestry, zootechnology, hydrobiology, plant products technology, farming systems and extension, and rural economy and sociology. Interdisciplinary research programmes funded by the EEC in livestock, vegetables, irrigation, and root crops are carried out. Other important services include training from secondary to post-doctoral levels and information dissemination and retrieval through the regional documentation unit and the special libraries of the stations
