Alemán. The methodical comparison of different decomposition methods and the chemistry of selenium lead to the conclusion, that the ashing under pressure and the combustion in excited oxygen are suitable, yet the last one not for mineral matrices. Decomposition with perchloric acid arouses problems in the graphite tube. The graphite tube technique in combination with underground compensation by Zeeman-Effect is used to exclude chemical interferences as they appear with the hybride technique. By this means the preparatory work in the laboratory can be minimised, especially in respect to the changing matrix. The statistical data for reproducibility and recovery when using the ashing under pressure and the testing of this method with NBS Reference Materials confirm that the presented method is a universally applicable method for the determination of selenium in mixed and mineral feeding-stuffs
