Alemán. During the growing seasons 1985 and 1986 an increased occurrence of Harzia acremonioides on outdoor tomato plants was noted around Hamburg. The fungus preferably infected leaves and petioles, more seldom stems, and was to be found only exceptionally on flower parts and fruits. The penetration into the plants occurred through wounds of the plant surface or following primary parasites and resulted in destruction after a short time. The possible causes of the increasing appearance of H. actemonioides are discussed
