Studies on the endemism in twelve genera of the Indian Rosaceae
1986
Purohit, K.M. | Panigrahi, G.
Endemism detected in 67 Indian taxa belonging to 12 genera of the family Rosaceae Juss. sens. lat. has been analysed and the Himalayas are established as a primary/secondary centre of origin for the endemic taxa. Twenty-one species are shown to have wider range of distribution and the remaining 46 endemic taxa are assigned to one or the other centres of endemism detected by Clayton and Panigrahi in 1975. The conservation status of the endemic taxa are indicated following the guidelines enunciated by the IUCN.
