Interests about milk production surface and hay/silage-concentrate substitution in the dairy cow ration have been increased by recent agricultural development of Korea. The task of this study is to estimate milk production functions and feed substitution ration in alternative dairy cow rations. Research data were used to predict milk production functions. The experiment for th1861e predictions of this study was carried out at Livestock Experiment Station of the Rural Development Administration in 1986. The experiment used 24 dairy cows and conducted for 60 days from 2 months after their deliveries. Formula feed "Chakyoo No. 2" was feeded as concentrate and rice straw and corn silage were fed as roughage. 4 percent fat-corrected milk (FCM) and dryweight feed were used as a measuring unit. Regression analyses were used for estimating milk production functions. Since little was known about the milk production function in Korea, three types algebraic equations which did and did not include time as a variable were fitted to the data. These three functions were a linear, a quadratic and a power functi
