Four cultivars of Brussels sprouts: Maczuga (of Polish origin), three heterosis crossings of Dutch provenience (Citadel F1, Lancelot F1, Parsifal F1) were grown in the second year after farmyard manure and full mineral fertilization on a brown soil on loess. A high content of dry mass, protein, L-ascorbic acid and ash was characteristic for the cultivar Citadel F1 which moreover showed excellent morphological features of t1156he heads (industrial requirements).
